Shawn Milke Life & biography and picture

Shawn Milke: vocals, guitar, piano
The crowd is still screaming at a sold out show in Anaheim, California as the sweetcore phenomenon known as Alesana exits the stage.

With humble beginnings in Baltimore and then solidifying their lineup in Raleigh, North Carolina, the genre-blending quintet called Alesana has come a long way in order to bring you their musical vision and incendiary live performance. Exploring the heights of love and the lows of heartbreak and bitterness that often follow, Alesana's music strikes a universal chord with audiences around the world. Fans embrace the emotional sincerity and undeniable intensity of the music while reveling in the reckless abandon with which alesana performs. Formed in October 2004 by guitarist/vocalist Shawn Milke, guitarist Patrick Thompson, vocalist Dennis Lee, and bassist Steven Tomany, Alesana quickly became a staple of the burgeoning Raleigh post-hardcore scene.

On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax, Alesana's latest album, hit stores this past spring with an enhanced disk which includes live footage and an interview that should not be missed. "The album is our interpretation of greek mythology and how the same stories and lessons apply in modern day society. Each song is our take on a different myth with a modern twist to it in most cases, but trying to leave the core of the stories intact," says vocalist Dennis Lee.

If you ask anyone in Alesana about the type of music they play they will tell you "sweetcore" because they are such sweet guys however if you listen to their music you will learn that it is because of their music which mixes hardcore screaming with high pitched vocals and melodic catchy hooks. This is only truly justified and sweetly shocking when you first see the six band members hurling their bodies around stage as they sweat profusely and really get into their performance.

Julian Fernando Casablancas Life & Biography

Julian Fernando Casablancas was born August 23, 1978, an American singer-songwriter and frontman of The Strokes. Casablancas pursued a solo career during The Strokes' hiatus, releasing the album Phrazes for the Young on November 3, 2009.

Julian Casablancas was born in New York, New York, to Spanish-American business mogul John Casablancas, the founder of Elite Model Management, and Jeanette Christiansen, a former model and Miss Denmark. His paternal grandfather, Fernando Casablancas, was a well-known textile businessman. His parents divorced and his mother subsequently married painter Sam Adoquei. Adoquei helped shape Casablancas' early musical taste by exposing him to music such as The Doors which was markedly different from the mostly Phil Collins-influenced music he originally listened to.

The first member of The Strokes Casablancas met was Nikolai Fraiture, who attended Lycée Français de New York with him (Fraiture graduated in 1997, Casablancas in 1996). When he was 14, Casablancas' father sent him to Institut Le Rosey, an elite boarding school in Switzerland. It was during Julian's brief stay in Switzerland that he met future Strokes member Albert Hammond, Jr. Casablancas attended The Dwight School with two other future Strokes, Nick Valensi and Fabrizio Moretti. Casablancas never finished school, but continued to take music classes where he says he first enjoyed himself in class. Casablancas is an alcoholic.

His first solo album, Phrazes for the Young (inspired by the Oscar Wilde book "Phrases and Philosophies for the Use of the Young"), was released on November 2 in the UK and November 3, 2009, in the United States. Recorded in Omaha, Nebraska, and Casablancas' home city New York, the album was produced by Jason Lader, with additional production from Bright Eyes' Mike Mogis. The album was strongly influenced by new wave and electronica, with Casablancas utilizing synthesizers for many songs. He discussed his new influences by saying "I would've gone weirder with the music, but I wanted to be smart. I didn't want people to say, 'Okay, this is his weird abstract thing,' and dismiss the album. I worked too hard on it for that to happen...I wanted to be crazy original and bridge the gap between traditional music and modern music."

Lzzy Hale Life & Biography

Lzzy Hale mother was TM and her father was a bus driver. The first song she wrote was "Love Is Power" she dedicate the song to his younger brother to get him to sleep at naptime. She make song by going to someplace were she can get an idea and record onto her phone.

Lzzy and her brother Arejay formed Halestorm in 1998 while in middle school. They immediately began playing local shows and garnered a following across Pennsylvania. The band line-up was solidified with the addition of Joe and Josh. Further honing their sound, Halestorm began showcasing for labels in 2005. Lzzy explains, "We were doing a show at Don Hill's in NYC. Don Hill himself loved the show and asked us to come back on a regular basis to help us build a buzz in the area. It was snowing hard in New York on the coldest night of the year when Atlantic Records first saw us perform. From there it was only a matter of time until we solidified our relationship, and put ink to paper."

Lzzy casts a hypnotic spell on stage. Drawing from influences as diverse as Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin, and Metallica, she has a dark sensuality that's undeniable. Her sultry side comes through on the moody "Familiar Taste of Poison." "That track is an amazing journey for me," she explains. "It's very low key, but it's a bit of a performance piece. It shows a different side of this band." She exudes that feeling on stage and in the studio, because she's not afraid to be herself. She laughs, "As a kid, when a lot of my friends were into Backstreet Boys, I attached myself to Alice Cooper, Cinderella, and Van Halen. I want to give the audience a ride and connect with them."

Ultimately that connection will be tangible, because Lzzy and co. were meant to be in a rock band. "My brother and I were very fortunate to know what we wanted to do at an early age. When I was 13 and he was 10, we got together and wrote five songs. We wanted to be in a band together, we wanted to make music, and that was it. Everything came second to that."In the end, that philosophy will ensure Halestorm's longevity. "This album has been a long time coming," says Lzzy. "There's been a lot of dirty work that went into making it. Creatively, we went to rock'n'roll college through the experience. It was crazy, raw, down and dirty. Our blood, sweat, and tears went into this thing."

Gerard Arthur Way Biography

Gerard Arthur Way
Gerard Arthur Way was born April 9, 1977, an American musician and comic book writer who has served as lead vocalist and co-founder of the band My Chemical Romance since its formation in 2001. He is also the writer of the Eisner Award-winning comic book The Umbrella Academy.

Gerard Way was born April 9, 1977 in Summit, New Jersey to Donna Lee and Donald Way. He has Italian ancestry on his mother's side and Scottish ancestry on his father's. He was raised in Belleville, New Jersey and first began singing publicly in the fourth grade, when he played the role of Peter Pan in a school musical production. His maternal grandmother, Elena Lee Rush, was a great creative influence who taught him to sing, paint, and perform from a young age; he has said that "she has taught me everything I know". Also, while in elementary school, the glam metal band Bon Jovi was instrumental in forming his love of music.
At the age of 15, Way was held at gunpoint, as he said in an April 2008 Rolling Stone interview: "I got held up with a .357 Magnum, had a gun pointed to my head and put on the floor, execution-style." He went on to say that "no matter how ugly the world gets or how stupid it shows me it is, I always have faith."

Hatched and reared amidst the soot-dappled streets of Newark and Belleville, Gerard Way kept musically active during his teens by performing in local bands with some of his school friends. After completing high school he took an animation job in New York City, but still hankered for a career with a higher public profile, and one that would allow him to wear excessive amounts of mascara. Eventually he contacted drummer Matt Pelissier, a former bandmate who had been experiencing similar urges, and the pair convened to resurrect their musical activities together and create some new songs. Guitarist Ray Toro was enlisted shortly afterwards. The line-up for what would become My Chemical Romance was ultimately rounded out by Way's younger brother Mikey (who had pinched the band's name from the drug-oriented writings of Irvine Welsh), and extensive gigging was undertaken around the New York area.

3 Door Down - Brad Arnold Biography

Brad Arnold is the lead singer,  spoke very positively of the album, "This record shows some growth on our part. We've had success in the past and we're very thankful for that, but there's always room to… take it up to another level. And I feel like we did that. There's a lot of songs that people can immediately identify with. We just really wanted to do our best on this record, and looking back on the whole experience, I can really say that we did.” The band embarked on a tour in July 2011 across USA, Europe, and the United Kingdom, in support of the album.  The album debuted at  #3 on the Billboard 200 with 59,800 copies sold in its first week.

The group is lauded for bringing melody, hooks, wholesomeness, and a straightforward approach back to rock ‘n’ roll which, at the time that the group put out its first CD in early 2000, often was considered to be in its dying stages or to have been co-opted by genres such as rap/rock, punk, and heavy metal.
