Corey Todd Taylor was born on December 8, 1973, also known as Number 8, is an American musician best known as a singer and songwriter of Slipknot and Stone Sour. Taylor was raised by his single mother. He developed a sense of love of classic rock, after his grandmother introduced him to her. Taylor met his father on March 28, 2005, and the two developed a strong relationship. Currently has a wife, an ex-wife and two children. For the release of Stone Sour Come What (ever) May, he was sober. August 3, 2009 and July 29, 2010, was co-hosted the Kerrang! Grants, along with Scott Ian of anthrax and the damn thing.

Corey Taylor is a founding member of Stone Sour and released three albums with the group. Taylor joined Slipknot in 1997 to replace their original singer Anders Colsefni. He has released four albums with the group. Taylor constantly alternates between the bands, as seen in 2001, after the liberation of Iowa, where he reformed Stone Sour immediately after the trip. He has worked with several groups, including beer junk Kidnap Band, Apocalyptica, Anthrax, and Soulfly. Taylor writes and sings in styles that vary by gender. He is known for its range of four octaves baritone voice. Taylor was ranked number 86 in the Top Hit Parade of 100 Metal singers of all time.

Personal Life

Corey Taylor was born in Des Moines, Iowa, December 8, 1973, the first of three children. Lived briefly in Orlando with his uncle, George Robson if Taylor was raised mostly by his mother in Waterloo, Iowa, a place described by Taylor as a "hole in the ground with buildings that surround it."

Taylor also had problems with alcohol, as his ex-wife, Scarlett, helped him through, and to prevent suicide. In 2006, Taylor told MTV that he tried to jump from a balcony on the eighth floor of the Hyatt on Sunset Boulevard in 2003, but "somehow [Scarlett] stopped me." Scarlett told him that either he would have to be sober or she would have canceled their wedding. Before Stone Sour began recording Come What (ever) May in January 2006, Taylor was sober. On August 3, 2009, he co-hosted the 2009 Kerrang! Prices starting with Scott Ian Anthrax. The following year, both are again co-host the Kerrang Awards, where Corey collected K! Services in metal prices on the name of Paul Gray, who died after an accidental overdose of morphine and fentanyl, and had also shown signs of "significant cardiac disease." In early September 2010, Taylor announced that his book, Seven Deadly Sins: resolve the dispute between the good and bad Born damaged and was released July 12, 2011 in Da Capo Press.
